the heart behind sage therapy

Meet Your Therapist

deana duckenfield

Real conversations. Real support.
Real change.

Hi, I’m Deana.

If you’re looking for a therapist who sits silently while taking notes and occasionally asks, “And how does that make you feel?” every ten minutes… that’s probably not me.

I believe therapy works best when it feels like an actual conversation.

Life is messy. Relationships are complicated. Anxiety is exhausting. Grief doesn’t follow a schedule. And sometimes you’re carrying things that have been weighing you down for so long that you’ve forgotten what it feels like to set them down.

You don’t need to show up with the right words or have everything figured out before we begin. You just need a place where you can be honest about what you’re experiencing.

That’s where I come in.

My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and free of judgment. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, major life transitions, self-esteem challenges, or simply feeling stuck, we’ll work together to understand what’s happening and create a path forward that feels realistic for your life.

Because therapy shouldn’t feel like another obligation on your calendar.

It should feel like a place where you can finally exhale.

A Little About Me

I’m naturally curious about people and genuinely enjoy hearing their stories. I believe healing happens through connection, honesty, and a willingness to keep showing up—even when things feel difficult.

I’m not afraid of the hard conversations, but I also believe there is room for humor, hope, and lightness along the way.

Life is challenging enough. Therapy doesn’t need to feel intimidating too.

Therapy That Fits Real Life

As a telehealth therapist, sessions happen wherever you’re most comfortable—your couch, your favorite chair, your home office, or wherever life happens to be that day.

No commute.
No waiting room.
No rushing across town.

Just support that’s accessible, convenient, and designed to fit into your life.

THE CREDENTIALS STUFF

Becoming a therapist required years of education, training, supervision, continuing education, and more coffee than I'd like to admit.

While credentials matter, I believe the most important part of therapy is the relationship we build together. My education provides the foundation, but every session is centered on your unique experiences, goals, and strengths.
